MFE Report: Cleaning Up Mapua. Nowhere and never do the rampers acknowledge the fact that was New Zealand's most contaminated site and the community fought tooth and nail to rescue it. The ramp is going to go where the most contaminated soil lies, and the top is the most contaminated of all.

There are only two pages you need to read here: (1) why the Council Hearing Panel decided against a boat ramp and (2) what the Council proposed for the park - with the full backing of the community (other than rampers).

We want TDC to finally show some integrity, withdraw support for the ramp and implement its own plan.

It will completely dominate the Waterfront Park to the benefit of a few big powerboat owners and no one else.

TDC staff report to Council on MCBRT's application for more money (June 20 2014). No wonder Councillors got cold feet: money down the drain, dodgy dealings with MCBRT, high risk of legal action and strong community dissent.

People wonder why we're doing all this again when the 2018 plan was supposed to last until 2028. Ask the Councillors who let the rampers in..
